Sony Pal (stylised as 'Sony पल') is an Indianpay television channel that was launched on 1 September 2014. It was initially aimed at women with women-oriented Hindi-language programming, now focused on family-oriented programming.[1] The channel is owned by Sony Pictures Networks.[2]

Sony Pal was launched in 1 September 2014 originally as a pay-TV channel, with Juhi Chawla as its ambassador.[3] The channel mostly aired women-centric reality shows[4] to compete with mainstream Hindi GECs like Star Plus, ZEE TV, Colors whose core TG is also women-oriented.
The channel had a low audience share[5] of 11,000 during the first weeks of its launch, as compared to other channels like Life OK, Star Plus, Zee TV and Colors TV.[6] Due to this, the channel ceased its business operations on 13 February 2015,[7] broadcasting re-runs of Sony TV and Sony SAB shows.[8]
The channel was then rebranded and turned into free-to-air TV channel, as it started syndication of former SET and Sony SAB series like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, CID and Baalveer. It was available on DD Freedish, Sony Pal started gathering a fair audience share by 2016.[9]

Love is in the air for our Telly serials! Romance has been explored in different manners, but what clicks with viewers matters at the end!! Let's take a tour of some romantic TV serials which touched our hearts!
‘Beintehaa' shows the lead pair sharing a love-hate relationship. This theme has worked in its favour with the lead pair- Zain (Harshad) and Aaliya (Preetika) termed as one of the best young romantic couples. ‘Rangrasiya' which also aired recently, shows the demure Paro (Sanaya Irani) and the ‘angry-young-man' Rudra (Ashish Sharma) depict their love through their eyes.
Sanaya Irani as ‘Khushi' was seen romancing the reserved businessman Arnav played by Barun Sobti in her previous ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon-1'. The serial was a massive hit with the lead pair displaying sizzling chemistry! Similarly, the lead pair of the ‘Qubool Hai' credits success to the crackling romance by ‘Asad' when played by Karan Singh Grover and ‘Zoya'( Surbhi Jyoti).
Another hit ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum' shows the subtle, budding romance between Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and Suraj (Anas Rashid). Their romance is more in the league of understanding and sacrifice, rather than sensuality. ‘Yeh Hai Mohabattein' shows a mature yet realistic love story between Ishita (Divyanka) and divorcee Raman (Karan). Who can forget ‘Jodha Akbar' the epitome of romance which translates on-screen with Rajat and Paridhi touted as the ‘perfect' romantic pair!
‘Ek Hazaaron Main Meri Behna Hai' showed Viren (Karan Tacker) and Jeevika's (Krystle) perfect arranged marriage and dream romance and they set stage on fire with their mutual admiration, care and affection for each other. In ‘Dill Mill Gayye', Riddhima (Jennifer) and Armaan (Karan Singh Grover) left audiences asking for more with their mesmerizing romance. ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' portrayed the romance between an 8 year-older Dr.Ashutosh (Sharad Kelkar)and Dr.Nidhi (Kritika). The serial was adored for its romance between 2 generations!
